The Book Thief by Markus Zusak ~Book Review!

The Book Thief...
A novel narrarated by the one and only; Death.  This story is set in the small town; Molching, Germany during WW2. Death tells the story of young Liesel, (a girl left at the home of Hans and Rose Huberman by her mother before her mother was threatened by the Nazis.) and her stuggles growing up in Nazi Germany. No, she's not a jew or a communist, (or even a Nazi enthusiast,) as you might conclude. She is just a young, benign thief trying to discover what should be justified in life.
Upon her younger brother dying on the train to Molching the discouraged Liesel steals a book left by the grave diggers.  This is the begining of the book thief's stealing chronicle. Much more stealing occurs and with it comes added knowledge for Liesel in the stories she reads.  In her new life she builds an acquaintance with Rosa and an ever - lasting bond with her new father, Hans.
Filled with reading, stealing, soccer, accordian music, chores, bombing, new perspective, Nazis, friendships, hardship,a few stunning twists, and new beginings; Liesel's life story is harrowing, yet enlightening at the same time. Skillfully written by Markus Zusak; this is a momentous read for everyone, especially those interested in Holocaust reading.
